Waldameer Park will host our picnic on July 19th 2009. Flyers with additional information should be posted at your worksite. Entries on this list will be given any open slots after July 11th. Preference will be given to entries with at least two Teamster's on the team. Ron was a Business Agent since 1988 and on January 26, 2008 assumed the position of President. Local 397 wishes Ron and his wife Kim good luck in his retirement and thanks him for his years of dedication to the members of this local. ************************************** NEW EXECUTIVE BOARD APPOINTMENTS Effective March 29, 2009 the Executive Board voted unanimously to make the following appointments. Al Rush President & Business Agent, Dave Northrup Secretary Treasurer & Business Agent, Steve Getz Recording Secretary & Business Agent and Dave Kosobucki Trustee. Al Rush had previously served as Trustee, Recording Secretary and Secretary Treasurer and has been a Business Agent since 1996. Dave Northrup previously served as Trustee, Vice President and Recording Secretary. Dave has been a Business Agent since January 26, 2008. Steve Getz previously served as Trustee. To All Teamster Local 397 Members Compliance with International Constitution and Local Union By-Laws- Honorable Withdrawal card A
withdrawal card is required to stop payment of your dues when you are off the job: otherwise you will be charged your dues the same as if you were working.
Rules regarding Honorable Withdrawal Cards:
Any member who is terminated, laid off, quits, is off work due to an illness or injury, or goes on a leave of absence may obtain a withdrawal card from the Local Union to stop their dues obligation while they are not working. You may request that your Local Union send you a withdrawal card in person or by telephone. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The telephone number is 814-454-1516 or toll free
1-800-343-3512. Union dues for the last month worked must be paid to be eligible for a withdrawal card. Any member in arrears in dues for three (3) months shall stand automatically suspended from all
rights and privileges of membership at the end of the third month. Any member suspended shall be required to pay a reinstatement fee of $50.00 to be restored in good standing in the Local Union. **************************************** Weingarten Rights If you are called into a meeting with a management representative and you have reason to believe that disciplinary action against you may result, you have the right to have a steward present during this meeting. Read the statement below to the management representative, and contact your steward immediately.
